What should incoming (Fall '27) new hires who have accepted their return offers at Weil do?
Morale is low, to put it mildly. The partners called us all a month ago to blow smoke and calm us down. It may have worked for a while. Now all of the \~20 people I talked to who had planned to return full time are in a state of panic. Pretty much everyone is actively searching for new jobs. Every single person I know who had multiple offers has gone back to see if their other offers were still open/could be renewed. Every couple days another manages to escape the sinking ship for another firm. Corporate seems to be better off as there are still positions actively 3L recruiting. Unfortunately, especially for the litigators, there are few to no job postings remaining.
What should current 3Ls who intended to return to Weil and have no connections at other firms be doing at this point?
