Does anyone ever just… do the work and go home without caring about every little thing about your job?
Working and having a good career is all good, but life is more than a job. I would hate to be 60 and realize that I gave up time with my wife that I love and friends that make life worth living.
Traveling. Poetry. Cinema. Art. This stuff matters more than making billables and worrying about whether you’re getting work every week.
For me it’s like, am I getting paid well? Yes. Am I learning? Yes. Am I growing as an attorney? Yes. Ok, the rest of it is politics and I don’t give a shit about sucking off partners and learning their every little preference to make it to the top.
Honestly, anyone feel the same?
