I'm a mid-level associate at Reed Smith. I just got off the call with the PGL that due to company fit reasons (various HR appropriate language used), they would like to part ways with me. As biglaw firms usually do - the PGL provided that I would be left on the payroll and company website to allow me some time to transition. The time I was given was until EOY - so like 1.5 months. I was told that someone from HR will reach out to me for next steps/more detail.
Just wanted to see if anyone who has had this experience have any tips on managing this process. First, is the period that is being provided to me (1.5 months) the current industry standard? Is that number something that is negotiable in any way with HR?
Unsure what other issues I should be thinking through when HR reaches out. My head is currently a little numb, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
