I (5th year lit associate) just returned from maternity leave and one of my cases is in a very busy deposition period. I’m pumping - still trying to iron out my schedule but probably every 3 hours or so. Have any associates here dealt with pumping during a deposition?
I will be second chairing some and first chairing others, so maybe I ask for breaks for ones where I’m first chairing and just step out for ones I’m second chairing? I don’t want to drive everyone crazy or get denied the opportunities to attend depositions because my pumping slows everything down. I’m even considering stopping pumping because this will be pretty challenging with the travel and everything, but my 5 month old baby was a premie so only about 3.5 months adjusted, so I was really trying to keep giving him breastmilk for a while longer.
I’d appreciate any advice from moms who have done this!
