Coming into the office late as a first year?

Hi All! I have a silly first year question I was hoping for some input on. I am in litigation and typically work very late. Although I am much more productive at night than in the morning, this is mostly the result of the partners I work closely with also being night owls.

But here’s the thing, I can’t work until midnight-2am and then come into the office at 8am. Call me a weakling, but I need at least 6.5 hours of sleep to function.

Sooooo, as a result, I find myself consistently coming into the office between 9-10 am (closer to 10 am these days). How terrible are the optics of this? The people who I work with late are also not in until late, but the rest of the floor has no idea I stayed up until 2 am the night before. They just see that I’m rolling in at 10 and I fear this is harming my reputation.

Is this normal? Is it all in my head? Should I expect something to be said at my mid-year review? Any advice appreciated!!

Edit to add: thank you all! Seriously!! For more context: I’m comfortably above my billable minimum, am located in the South (so not NYC), and other juniors tend to come in between 8-8:30 so I am definitely “late” in comparison (partners tend to come in anytime before noon)
