Coping with a breakup in big law

Title says it all. Boyfriend (ex now I suppose?) works in the same team. Things just didn’t work out and I’m left picking up the pieces of what’s left of me while having to reply emails, turn drafts and work on multiple due diligence files and pretend I’m a functional hardworking professional.

It absolutely sucks and I cannot imagine having to do this day to day while my whole world has turned upside down.

I know most would say the billables are a good distraction, but for those who has been through this - what was your experience like and how did you get through it?

P/S: As much as I would love to take time off for this, I don’t think my team would be too fond of that idea considering that it’s bit a peak season now. And I’m actually based in Asia so I don’t quite get most of the perks/flexibility that (I think?) Western firms offer unfortunately.
