Closed a deal about a week ago and I'm still steaming about the junior associate who completely disappeared on me at about 11:00 p.m. when we had a 9:00 a.m. closing call and lots of work left. I was up until about 3:00 a.m. doing the work he should have done. Any suggestions for how to handle in the future? Let them know ahead of time that, yes, we might be up until 2:00 a.m. and that's the job?
I don't like throwing people under the bus but the petty person in me does want to tell the partners (I'm a mid-level), if just to complain about it and get it out of my system.
EDIT. Plot twist. The deal is closing tonight. I'm so pissed because it's happening real-time. I'm on Reddit at this ungodly hour (why are you all?) because I literally have to wait for things. Had changed the details because I was worried about this associate getting on Reddit and seeing this post. I've decided I don't care. (Associate, if by some crazy chance you see this, OK yes I'm still pretty mad at you but we can still be friends just give me a week or so to recover from this horrible deal and I know I've dropped the ball on things before.)
