do biglaw firms actually check the authenticity of transcripts?

Hey guys, i have never posted here before. I am the whistleblower who reported the mass LSAT cheating scheme to the LSAC.

I saw somewhere on social media that someone last year had terrible 1L fall grades and wanted to edit the grades on the transcript (by like photoshop or something). That person was asking if law firms really check the authenticity of law school transcripts. It's not clear what happened after that.

Do firms check that as part of the background check? I think (and I hope) they do but still curious about it.
