I started almost four months ago as a first-year associate at a big law firm, and I had a question about PTO norms.
In your experience, how much PTO is generally considered socially acceptable to take during the first year—by which I mean without risking negative perceptions or being passed over for future work?
I’m trying to strike the right balance between using the time I’m entitled to and being mindful of expectations as a junior associate.
