Hi! I'm a former Biglaw attorney that spent the past five years in Biglaw and due to a combination of layoffs and immigration issues, I now have a year gap in my resume. Now, I'm trying to figure out what my next moves should be career wise. I've been applying to firms for a few months now and haven't had any interview luck. Other Biglaw firms have explicitly stated they don't want to hire me because of the gap in my resume, boutique firms are straight-up ghosting me and insurance defense firms either think I'm overqualified for the role or don't want to train me. I am now wondering if I should give up on law entirely but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions that I had not considered.
Any advice would be helpful!
