I Suspect Two of the Associates in my Group are Having an Affair

This morning, I had my usual cup of coffee and headed to the unisex bathroom for my post-caffeine routine. I’d made the mistake of starting the day with both coffee and a nicotine pouch—something I usually save for later—so things were… moving quickly.

So there I am, speed-walking toward the unisex bathroom*.* I reach the door—occupied. Of course. At that point, I'm quite uncomfortable, but do I use the main bathroom? Absolutely not. The idea of a partner being in the stall next to me while I do my business?!

So, I waited.

After five agonizing minutes, the door opens and out walks one of the senior associates in my group. No time for small talk. I nod, smile through the panic, and throw open the door.

And that’s when I see one of the junior associates from my group—standing in front of the mirror, mid-button-up. I freeze. He freezes. There is a silent exchange - we'll never speak of this.

At the time, I didn't quite piece it all together. But later that afternoon, I hear the senior associate snap at the junior associate a few offices down. Something like, “I know you want to help, but don’t offer. Just wait for me to ask.”

And suddenly, everything clicked. The weird overlap. The shirt. The tension. Oh my god—they’re probably having an gay office affair?? And all this time, I thought they were just bros.

Now I’m stuck with this information, wondering: Do I say something? Is this an HR thing? Or do I just mind my business and never speak of this again.

**Please excuse my username. I hit a low point after I took the bar, and now I can't change it.
