Is anyone else in biglaw and think ultimately going inhouse is always going to be the better career move long term (especially with the growing sophistication of AI and inhouse teams leveraging AI more)?
Pros (at least most of the time these apply with certain exceptions) - Better wlb, more closer to the business (therefore your expertise is more valuable and less prone to being replaced by AI), good $$$ (especially at a company where the equity granted as part of a package is valuable), way more access to opportunities other than being a lawyer, way broader options (100000000 types businesses versus just a standard law firm).
Obviously, if you make it to partner in biglaw you can earn good money but it takes an unlimited level of grind which never really ends even if you become partner (unless youre lucky enough to be those rainmaker types where you can get off the tools more often).
Currently a v5 mid level thinking about the future.....
I do get that not all inhouse options are going to be great but I think on balance its going to be better than being in a law firm
