Is it okay to be honest with my coworker-friends about this?

I have 3-4 coworkers whom I would call my friends; all of them are women except for one (I'm a guy). Recently I've noticed that the ladies have taken an interest in my romantic life. They have asked, very kindly and nonchalantly, if I'm seeing anyone recently; two have asked about my history. I said I'm not seeing anyone, and I gave a non-answer/joke to the history question.

The issue is I have no history, and I'm embarrassed that I've never dated anyone for 30 years, but it is what it is. I don't want to lie to them, but I also know how a 30yo man who's never dated might be viewed by our society. It sounds like they are trying to help, but I also am worried a) how this disclosure might change their opinion of me, and b) changing the nature of hitherto professional friendships by letting them into my most personal life.
