I was recently elected to the Board of Directors of a Fortune 100 company. I’ve had a long and fruitful corporate career. My kids have basically always viewed my success as their own, and in recent years, that attitude has extended to their spouses.
So one of my kid’s spouses just started working at a large law firm. They are not even licensed yet, but have been outright suggesting I send them legal work. They asked me if they can disclose my new position to their practice group leaders — even mentioned that they’d love if I come meet the partners of the firm.
Any advice for dealing with a freshly minted lawyer angling for work?
