Has anyone else had a public mental breakdown at the peak of a closing or a similar experience? What happens next? Did they let you go or have a conversation with you?
Mine happened quite recently, just can't stop crying for a few hours after making the same small mistakes over and over again, even after being corrected multiple times on the same point (including one time in front of the partner, and was kind of told that I can't take feedback in front of the partner). Kind of just totally forgot about this over and over again or is it some unconcscious avoidance pattern?
This is obviously very suicidal. Dropping the ball during a closing is probably one of the worst things that could happen. This job is not for me if I'm like this. So I realized I am in fact just an uncoachable piece of shiiittee, and always have quite weak execution/admin functioning.
So far, no one on the deal team has ever discussed this with me athough I suppose the deal team probably have conversed on this without me. I have been so very panicky every day at this job since the very beginning, constantly overwhelmed by how others will see me at work, what they think of me, how they would compare me with my very strong peer associates. I realized there was one time that I picked up the anxious and rude stuff I was told and literally said the same things to others. I am in a small practice group, so basically work with the same people on every single deal, and if you mess up once or they have strong preference over other peer associates at your level, you are kind of just iced out (which I suppose I am now). I JUST DON'T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE, BECAUSE THIS JOB MAKES ME HATE MYSELF SO MUCH.
