Recently my boss has been requesting that I send her a list of the projects I've billed for at the end of the day and send her the projects I plan to work on for the day in the morning.
She says it's to help make sure that I meet deadlines and stay in track. This and a few other things feel like huge red flags.
The leadership might not be very stable or have good boundaries. My boss called me at 6:30 to complain about formatting and spelling issues in a draft and then interrogated me about why I was calling to give a client an update they asked for. The other day one of the partners was talking about all these weird conspiracy theories he believes at a firm lunch with the summer associates.
I haven't been there for very long, but I think I should start planning my exit before things get really weird.
Edit: To be clear, my managing partner told me to call clients to give them updates. In this case we already had the call scheduled. It doesn't make sense to me why I’m being scrutinized for doing what I was told.
