Title. I’m a first year associate at a big firm and feel like I am never anyone’s first choice to work with/ work comes to me when others say they’re too busy. I’ve had two separate experiences now where I’ve been asked to draft something or join a case team only to find out that a different first year was asked and said no/was too busy, so then the opportunity was presented to me.
I am not sure if I am reading too much into this, or if it indicates that I am just worse at my job than others so am not going to be staffed on things unless partners are desperate.
Thoughts?
