Anybody else a newly minted partner struggling to keep a full plate of billables?
Between work streams drying up, being too expensive for certain matters, and losing hours because I’m now supervising instead of doing the actual work, it feels like a completely different job overnight.
At the same time, the [internally-induced] pressure to generate business is constant. I miss the days of being the go-to associate who could basically sleepwalk into 8–9 billables a day.
I have the desire to make equity, but there’s a real fear of getting pushed out before ever making it there. Curious if others are dealing with the same transition and how you’re handling it.
