When I started with my current law firm, I was told I would get a 10% origination bonus for every client I bring in. Within the first 6 months, I brought in two huge clients. Now my managing partner is asking me if I would be ok with splitting my origination bonus between the other partners and me: 5% for me and 5% to be split among the partners. I told them i need to think about it and told them i want to have a zoom call. Any recommendations? I am a young associate, but I am a very go-getter.
Edit: I just want to point out that this is ID law firm and I brought in a major insurance company. So the firm will be getting a lot of cases and the deal was for me to get 10% of whatever the firm profit from them.
