I'm a third-year associate. I admittedly dropped the ball on an issue. But no client/court deadlines were missed and the client was not disadvantaged. We had a feedback session about it and I totally acknowledged where I could improve and my definite takeaways. This was Friday. Today I learned that the junior partner on the matter went to the practice group head to discuss my overall "ownership" attitude. On at least 6 other matters currently ongoing, I have been praised for taking on complicated issues and managing major components. My advisor said the move to the head felt "aggressive" when there are likely several other levels they could have gone to first.
I'm obviously prepping a resume to send off tonight but...am I cooked?
