A partner at my firm doesn't seem meaningfully engaged in any actual client work. He always has some firm pizza-party planning-committee meeting to attend or prepare for, which conveniently keeps him from joining client page-flip calls, negotiating calls with the other side, reviewing merger agreements, etc.
Is this an actual viable means of survival at a large law firm? Usually, these partners have SOME actual billable work or clients they bring in. It's an open source of speculation among many senior associates and junior partners at the firm as to what this guy actually does all day.
