Reddit bitching works

A weekish ago I reported an acquaintance at WSGR was told to be 5x a week in office (was maybe a group/office specific thing? unclear) and the post got a lot of buzz \~ happy to report that policy has now been formally retracted and 3x a week in office reinstated for them \~ what we should all takeaway from this is you should absolutely bitch about your firms' shitty policies and publicly shame them on Reddit :)

Note - a couple ppl reported from the WSGR partner retreat in the comments of my last post that a firm wide 5 day RTO policy is being implemented starting in Feb, so we'll see if that manifests in a few months

TO ANY FIRM POLICY MAKERS READING THIS: feed your ppl who show up to the office lunch. As a biglaw alumnus getting fed lunch every day in house, I'm more and more disgusted that biglaw doesn't do the same. It's rly simple to make a shared Doordash cart and give everyone a $30 (pretax/fees) budget. Economically it makes more sense for you - a $30 lunch vs the hundreds you lose per person who has to stop billing for half an hour to go pick up a lunch or make it in the evening. Or like what if a deal is closing and they can't step away to go pick up food??? Are your associates supposed to starve?? Or are they supposed to go pick up food and be away from their comp mid closing (I'm sure you all would love that)

Vibes wise you guys are fr so ick and cheugy for not providing lunch. #embarrassing
ETA that personally if I knew one firm gave lunch every day I would for SURE want to go there vs a peer firm who didn't have the same policy !! Give yourself a recruiting edge!
