I’m a lit junior. My firm rolled out an AI service that is approved for use on billable matters a few months ago. The AI service is automating tons of junior work. This includes things like proofs, but also much bigger tasks like doc review.
I feel like so many traditional junior tasks are vanishing. I still deal with all the high pressure of being on call all the time, but my hours have been bad recently. It’s the worst of both worlds: no breaks but nothing to do. And, if the AI catches some small detail in doc review that I don’t catch, I look awful.
What is going to happen? Is the biglaw business model going to radically change? Can anyone empathize?
