Severely understaffed

I can’t believe how understaffed my firm is in terms of literally every position—associates, paralegals, assistants, etc.—except partners. I have too much work as a new-ish associate that things can’t help but slip through the cracks. At least two more senior attorneys have told me they’ve never had my caseload level. But partners keep adding me to things without asking if I’m free, and when I say I don’t think I can give their cases the attention they deserve, I get told I have to work more (I’m working max capacity (above billable req) and we’ve been losing associates left and right bc this isn’t what we signed up / are getting paid for). I’ve gotten so behind on tasks and deadlines bc of this unmanageable caseload that I’m worried I’m at least going to get a serious talking to. Thoughts? Advice? Commiseration?
