I’ve been assigned to a case with Junior Partner A. Junior Partner A clearly did not have time to handle this case and basically stopped responding to my emails which were attempting to move the case forward. I’m talking like ignoring 5-7 emails where I borderline beg her to review something so I can send it to the client. Also I’ve been requesting her availability for months to schedule calls with client representatives. Because of this, we are in a bind and may not meet the deadline. Senior Partner swapped out Junior Partner A for Junior Partner B that has never worked this type of case but hopefully has the time to actually supervise me.
When he inevitably asks me why this case is in shambles despite already receiving extensions, what do I say? I certainly have a paper trail showing my attempts to move it forward so I don’t anticipate trouble on my part but I want to explain to him that it’s not my fault he has virtually no time to review these documents before filing.
