Senior associate. Have been stupid busy lately (200+ hours two straight months) and I let a colleague know I was frustrated.
Partner called me tonight and said there’s a rumor that I’m unhappy and to let him know if I’m looking to leave so that he can start looking for a replacement.
He’s not wrong - I am unhappy. But I wasn’t planning on leaving.
But I feel like I can’t really come back from a partner telling me that everyone knows I’m unhappy. Am I cooked? Is it time to update the resume?
