Does anyone else find it easier to have a month billing 220 with 2 primary active matters versus a month with 180 and 10 very active time sensitive matters? I keep getting pressured to take on more work at the minute because of my “average utilization” but I don’t know how to explain that the juggling alone is why I can’t take on any more. If I were working more efficiently I would probably be well over 200 right now, but I find it impossible to do so with all the pulls on my focus. I can’t seem to set aside even 45 minutes of uninterrupted time in the day to buckle down on one task without being asked about the status of another “time sensitive, really quick” ask.
Maybe this is on me to get better at project management. Feeling overwhelmed and burnt out at the minute. Worse still, my performance is suffering. I’m trying to please everyone and pleasing no one.
