UPDATE: Success with cold emailing hiring partners

Hi all! This is a follow up to my original post re cold emailing hiring partners- at the end of September I cold emailed a partner for a posted associate position at a V50 in my city requesting to meet for coffee to discuss the position. Here is the original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/biglaw/s/ZIIah1ihoB

I had the coffee meeting with the partner last week and it went really well, they advised they will send my application materials to the recruiting team and let the managing partner know to look out for my resume.

I sent the materials that day, and then the following day the partner emailed me, copying their associate, suggesting the two of us meet so I can learn more about the practice group. I have the meeting with the associate scheduled this week.

What do you all think my prospects are of getting a formal interview? I haven’t heard anything else formal from the firm, but obviously these are good developments. This would be my first true big law job (I’d be lateraling from an AM LAW200) so I am just not familiar with the recruiting/ hiring process. Any insight would be helpful thanks!
