5th year corporate associate so the time is right but I’m afraid of losing the flexibility this job gives you.
Sure, it sucks ass staying up for a closing or dealing with a deal from hell. But what other job can I fly to some concert or event in another city, sit in my firm’s office for 1-2 days, get taken out to lunch and patted on the back for “business development”? I visit my family every long weekend and make it longer by going early/staying late and working from there. I work the holidays from sunny South Florida and take calls on the patio. I have a high maintenance pet that needs medical treatments once a month that requires me to sit there for 2 hours in the middle of the workday. I work on the way to a wedding and don’t need to burn a “vacation day” sitting on a plane or in the car.
I want to do less overall, but is going in house more of a butts in seats 9-5? My husband has to tell his boss he’s going to the dentist. I’m a K-JD so this has been my only real job.
Anyone on the other side?
