I’m clerking for a judge, and today I received the most unhinged filing from a big law shop, mostly known for exclusively hiring T-14 graduates. (I should know, I’m joining them next fall.)
The first motion was filled with redlines, including a reference to their taxes paying my judge’s salary.
The case manager received a frenzied phone call from the partner who profusely apologized. Now, we a have a motion to strike the original filing and another motion to for leave to file an amended motion.
Oh well. It can wait until tomorrow. But maybe this firm isn’t for me? Have you ever reneged on a job offer after seeing an unhinged filing?
