Why cant/dont firms issue better PC laptops?

I went to Best Buy the other day after ages, and I was blown away at how crisp and powerful some of the newer PC laptops are. I’m an Apple fan and I’m still upset that the legal ecosystem has not been developed for Mac OS, but a LARGE number of these PC’s (surface pro, yoga, etc) were as sleek and powerful as our MacBook Pros. AND they are at a reasonable price point ($1k). I’m not even talking about the top PC - literally every PC that Best Buy was selling (at all price points) seemed to be more sleek and powerful than the shit my “elite NYC” firm has handed us.

So why do firms keep issuing the shitty cinder block laptops that are heavy, laggy, and have zero battery life? I get that it’s probably a mass supply contract thing, but why not get a supplier contract with a better line-up of laptops? Wouldn’t this be better for everyone?
