I’m a first year in a large firm. I’ve frankly been horribly miserable, except for the work I do with a single partner (who I do around 60% of my work with). Said partner has really mentored me, uses every moment to teach me, gives me a lot of autonomy, reinforces my strengths, gets me in front of clients, gives me diverse tasks, is pleasant to work with, is SUPER smart, and advocates for my best interests. The partner is leaving our firm to go to another firm in another state. I’m devastated (I don’t really see myself happy in my current role without her). Should I follow her? What would you all do?
Edit: I love where I currently live, but I would 100% be fine living in the new city, as well.
