Seeing many requests for help on LinkedIn from law students that accepted summer positions or offers to return to Weil. It genuinely makes me furious. These students believed they had everything figured out to start their careers. Several of them are also students from schools not necessarily considered the “top” of legal academia so (i) they obviously had to grind to get their offers and (ii) it won’t be as easy for them to fall ass backwards into another comparable offer given the current economic uncertainty. It’s incredible that the only reason the firm was suddenly liquidated was so that a few partners could make incrementally more money each year. No honor among thieves, but just remember this the next time ”your” partner sends you an “urgent” email at 1 AM. They will sell you down river for a dollar!
